After much speculation, The Co-op has confirmed that ALDI will be coming to the Barossa, in their Shopping centre redevelopment.

Barossan shoppers can expect to enjoy great products at everyday prices, when ALDI opens the doors to its Nuriootpa store, in the new Co-op Shopping Centre.

CEO of The Co-op, Graeme Longmuir, says, “We are very excited about ALDI coming to our Shopping Centre. Ever since we started exploring the idea of the redevelopment, extensive Member surveys have shown that our members want more choice, more value, and brands. We expect that the addition of ALDI will deliver this to our members and customers.”

Moreover, with the new Shopping Centre featuring ALDI and the new Co-op Fresh Foodland, The Co-op is confident that the redevelopment will help strengthen the local community.

“In addition to offering our customers and members another reason to shop locally, the addition of ALDI to the Shopping Centre will bring even more jobs to our local community,” said Mr Longmuir. The project is hoping to create over 350 jobs during the construction phase, and a further 150 jobs in the Centre once opened.

It is also expected that the redevelopment will bring a further $24 million to the region by 2021.
