Maz McGann is a consultant and independent practitioner with over twenty years’ experience working with government, community and commercial clients on a range of initiatives. She specialises in arts and cultural management, but her work often intersects with tourism, community development, sport and recreation, facilities planning, place-making, small business development and heritage preservation. She is an expert facilitator, communicator and researcher that has worked with a variety of clients to formulate and implement strategies, business plans and feasibility studies, manage projects, design events and engage with stakeholders to achieve a range of outcomes. Maz is a creative thinker and has centered her business on developing opportunities for people to actively engage in community life – in ways that are both meaningful and accessible. She relishes in the development of bold ideas and creative approaches but ensures these can be grounded and achievable.

Maz established her Consultancy, Play Your Part in 2015 and has worked with local Councils, arts and community  organisations from all over Australia as well as the Federal Government’s Department of Communication and the Arts. She is the Chair of the Sunshine Arts Advisory Board, and Funding Assessor for Festivals Australia and the Co-Director of the Barossa Vintage Festival.
