The inaugural Barossa Co-op Members Advisory Group is being created to give members and the local community a meaningful voice in Barossa Co-op’s future. The group will provide feedback, advice and community insights to the Board and Executive Team, helping guide long-term planning, future investment decisions, membership strategies and initiatives that support a sustainable Co-op for generations to come.

KEY ROLES & FUNCTIONS

Community Voice

  • Represent members and consumers voices and opinions on future investment strategies and/or decisions.
  • Provide recommendation on social impact strategies for the community.
  • Provide insights on community sentiment and more specifically the impact on Barossa Co-op.
  • Recommend potential retail businesses based on community sentiment and feedback.
  • Understanding what regional / community partnerships could be leveraged.

Applications are now open for active Barossa Co-op members who live in the Barossa and Light districts and want to contribute to the future of their Co-op. If you are passionate about the Barossa community and can bring business, community, leadership, sustainability or co-operative experience — or a strong desire to learn more — we encourage you to apply.

Application Criteria

  • Applicants must be current members of Barossa Co-op.
  • Applicants should have a genuine interest in the future direction, growth, and success of Barossa Co-op.
  • Applicants should be willing to share constructive feedback, community insights, and member perspectives.
  • Applicants should be able to contribute positively to discussions and respect the advisory nature of the Group.
  • Applicants should be prepared to act in accordance with the Group’s Terms of Reference.
  • Applicants must be willing to meet approximately 4 times per year for 1 to 2 hours.

Members who meet the above criteria are encouraged to apply. Successful members of the group will receive an in-kind honorarium in the form of Barossa Co-op gift cards to acknowledge their participation and contribution.
