The cost to become a member of The Barossa Co-op is just $2, and once you join, you will enjoy some great benefits for a small investment. These benefits include:
Are you ready to become a member? Simply complete our application form, drop it in to our Information Desk at Barossa Central with your $2, and you’ll receive your membership card on the spot and you can start enjoying member benefits.
By becoming a member, you will have the opportunity to sign up for what we call ‘member services’. These are exclusive offers provided to our members, rewarding you for investing in The Barossa Co-op.
We encourage our members to invest in our co-operative. The current interest rate is 2% above the target cash rate set by the Reserve Bank of Australia. The interest paid on member-invested funds is agreed by the members each year at the Co-operative’s Annual General Meeting. This rate is amongst the highest returns paid by any bank at the moment and members can increase their shareholding at any time by purchasing more shares.
An important characteristic of any co-operative is that every membership has only one vote at a meeting of members regardless of how many shares that membership owns.
It is important to note that rebate funds do not earn interest but can be easily transferred into share capital at any time so that they do.
If this is of interest to you, please don’t hesitate to contact us for more information.
