We have Lobster

This Christmas Barossa Fresh is excited to announce that we have fresh local lobsters available in-store adding a gourmet touch to this year’s festivities.

Our lobsters are sourced from the Limestone Coast Fishermen’s Co-operative Limited (LCFC). The co-operative is proudly owned and operated by local fishing families in the South East of South Australia and is a processor and exporter of premium quality Southern Rock Lobster.

As a family-owned business the LCFC’s core driver is to secure a viable future for fishermen and their families, but also the coastal towns and communities in which they live and operate from,  aligning strongly with our own mission here at the Barossa Co-op.

The LCFC’s Members catch and supply premium Southern Rock Lobster wild-caught in the cold, clean waters of the Southern Ocean. Known as the ‘Finest in the World’, and renowned for its imposing appearance, the Southern Rock Lobster is a cold-water spiny lobster prized for its firm, sweet flesh and delicate flavour.
