Backyard water fun

It’s warming up, you are currently at home and you have completed every job you’ve set out to do inside. It’s now time to take a step back, relax and enjoy family time. That may mean spending quality time with your loved ones. There are so many exciting family activities to do outside whilst it’s warm, especially when it comes to water!

Below are three types of water fun ideas for every age to enjoy;

WATER BALLONS – Nothing is better on a hot summer’s day than Water Balloon Dodge Ball. Life can be and is serious at this point in time, therefore letting your kids throw water balloons (at you) is a great time waster and can be really fun for both you and the whole family. If you have a group of older kids, you can really get an organised game of dodge ball going. First, make sure you have a lot of water balloons. Separate your kids into teams and then, let the kids go at it! If you get hit by an opposing team member, you’re out.

DIY SPRINKLERS – There are a few items you may have laying around at home that are both fun and cheap which make for great DIY projects, especially for younger children. Poking holes into a plastic bottle, hula hoop, plastic pipe or an old pool noodle and attaching a hose onto any of these items makes for an afternoon of entertainment. It also keeps them cool and active whilst also playing safe.

SLIP – N – SLIDE – The traditional slip and slide is a must have during summer for every family, young and old. Amp your slip-n-slide up by adding water balloons through the middle. You may have a colourful mess when you’re finished but you will have had yourself one heck of a fun ride, enjoyable for every family member.

We all lead busy lives, let’s take a step back and enjoy the time we have with family. Now is the perfect time to get outside and get active whilst also having fun!
