Barossa Co-op Refurbishment Concept Plans Unveiled

Barossa Co-op is well advanced in refurbishing the iconic ‘Barossa Home Living’ building at Nuriootpa, which is being rebranded to Barossa Lifestyle.

The building, which currently houses womenswear, menswear, Toyworld and homewares, has already commenced refurbishment plans to install modern flooring, improved lighting, contemporary fixtures and fittings and informative signage.

The store continues to trade as normal while sections of the space are renovated, with plans for ‘Barossa Lifestyle,’ to be a unique regional lifestyle store housing known and relevant brands and ranges under the one roof.

With a concept of creating a department store in the country, concept plans have been unveiled. (The concept visuals are subject to change).

The new refurbished store will house apparel and footwear, including key brands Country Road, Witchery, Mimco, R.M. Williams, ORTC and Ringers Western.

Toyworld will still be included in the store, plus an extensive range of indoor and outdoor furniture, bedding and homewares, while Barossa Betta (including Weber & Yeti brands) and The Design Studio will be featured in this building, rather than separate areas.

The existing Barossa Betta and The Design Studio spaces will be offered to new retail businesses with a focus to deliver most-wanted brands by the Barossa community.

Barossa Co-op Board Chair, Simon Newbold said, “As a community owned business and in its 80th year of operation, Barossa Co-op has a responsibility to the community to make sure the best retail experiences are offered to members, whether it’s in a physical environment or online.

“We strive to optimise the return on our assets ensuring profits are generated to reinvest back into the business, repay debt and benefit our members and the community.

“We are proud that we can provide everyday member discounts across our businesses, employ locals, support clubs, schools and community organisations with sponsorship, and purchase and distribute local produce.”
